Christmas is a very festive holiday season. It gives everybody a chance to break away from the common work environment and find time to meet with friends and family members. Christmas also has some magical qualities to it. For some reason, during the holiday season, old enemies meet and reconcile, broken relationships are mended and hurt feelings are replaced by happiness and utmost love.
But apart from those, a lot of people (kids specifically) look forward to Christmas because of the gifts it brings. Well you really cannot blame them because come to think of it, you do not get gifts often right? However, it is important to note that happiness does not just come from receiving. In fact, more joy is derived if you see yourself on the “giving” side because it is where you get to see people beam up as you hand them an intricately wrapped present.
Oh and you do not have to worry much about the monetary value of your gifts. After all, this season is not just about money. So a creative and well thought gift can fare well compared to the expensive ones. Sometimes, it is all about presentation.
Now the question is, how are you supposed to impress people with creative Christmas gifts?
Here are a few tips that you can keep in mind.
1. When you personalize or customize your gifts keep the personality of the recipient in your mind.
The reason behind this is quite self explanatory. For your recipient to love your work of art, you must make sure that the design and the elements you use are in tune with his or her personality or interest.
Here is an example.
If your friend is a cheerleader or a jock perhaps, then remember to include the colors of the school in their gifts. You can also add anything that reminds them of the school spirit that they love so much.
If on the other hand, your friend loves metal or he plays for a rock band, then your best bet for color is black. If you know the basics of jewelry making, you can also make him customized chain accessories that will blend well with his attire while playing.
2. Create something that will make them remember you and the good memories you spent with them.
For this, you can work on a scrapbook project that your friend can show off. You can start on gathering pictures from your other friends and compiling them in an acid – free material to keep them from deteriorating.
If you want to make your project more special, you can also ask some of your friends to write down some of their memories in other pages to somehow serve as their own memorabilia. Now, you have to be warned though that making a scrapbook is no joke, you have to spend lots of time before it can be completed so you better get started early.
3. Showcase your other talents.
Remember, it is not all about visual arts. If you know how to compose songs, then you can give your special someone a copy of one of your compositions. If cooking is your talent, then you can offer your services as a chef for one important night. You can do anything that you know will make your recipient happy.
See, impressing people with creative Christmas gifts is not that hard right? So go crazy and unleash the artist in you.
